The Foundation for Financial Service Professionals is now seeking nominations for the 2011 American Business Ethics Awards (ABEA). This annual program sponsored by the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) recognizes companies that exemplify high standards of ethical behavior in the conduct of their everyday business as well as in response to specific crises or challenges.
The deadline for receipt of nominations is March 15, 2011. Nomination forms are available via the following link: ABEA Nomination Form or by calling 1-800-392-6900.
The awards are presented in three categories: large companies (2,500+ employees), mid-sized companies (250 – 2,500 employees) and small companies (fewer than 250 employees). Financial service companies and non-profit organizations are not eligible due to their possible association with the Society of FSP.
A company may be nominated for ABEA consideration by a customer, client, employee, consultant, vendor or other person who believes the company’s ethics program is commendable. Nominated companies will be asked to complete an official entry form and provide documentation of ethics in action at their company.
Entries are evaluated by an independent panel of judges representing business, academia, public service, media, consulting and the ethics community. Recipients of the 2011 ABEA will be honored at a special ceremony to be held in the fall.
Past ABEA recipients include Lockheed Martin, General Mills, General Dynamics, Whirlpool, Pitney Bowes, Starbucks, Kiplinger, Texas Instruments, Levi Strauss and Merck.
