September 27, 2007 – The World Bank Institute, in cooperation with InWEnt Capacity Building International, is inviting business leaders and CSR practitioners who are engaged or interested in issues of global sustainable development and good governance to participate in the 12th International Business Forum at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Operating in today’s globalized economy is risky business. The private sector has identified a need to take the initiative in addressing global challenges that impact their business as much as the societies in which they operate. Often they are doing so in the absence of clear legislation or clear and functioning global frameworks. This conference will pinpoint the role business can and should play in shaping tomorrow’s global governance structures, and suggest corresponding adjustments required by the public sector.

The Forum will host an intensive learning and networking process focusing on the business sector’s contribution to such vital issues as:

Private Sector Roles in Combating Corruption: Setting One’s Own Standards

Business Contributions to achieving the Millennium Development Goals
