What: Alcoa Foundation to hold a first-of-its-kind International Social Venture/Enterprise Initiative to discuss ways that nonprofits and NGOs can utilize strategies and practices to improve their effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability.

Who: International Experts, Funders and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) will convene at Wingspread Conference Center and via videoconference from 9 locations worldwide.

When: June 19th – 21st, 2003

— The Johnson Foundation’s Wingspread Conference Center in Racine, Wisconsin, and

Why: NGOs face a stark new reality: The need for their services is increasing at a time when traditional funding sources are decreasing.

This initiative is designed to begin to expose and provide nonprofits and NGOs the opportunity to hear how this might be one way to sustain their organizations.
