Washington, DC – Carbonfund.org, nonprofit organization that educates the public about climate change and supports renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects that reduce carbon emissions, announces the addition of another member to their ever-growing team in the challenge to stop climate change.
Ramsay Huntley joins the team as a Program Coordinator. Ramsay comes to Carbonfund.org from Tufts University where he was the Climate Entrepreneurship Specialist for the Tufts Climate Initiative.
“I have been committed to both climate change and social entrepreneurship for a long time, and Carbonfund.org is a great combination of my two passions,” said Huntley. “I’m excited to be joining an organization that joins a vision for fighting climate change with the practical skills necessary to have a real impact.”
Ramsay brings a strong understanding of the carbon offset market. “At Tufts, much of my work dealt with either renewable energy or carbon credits, and I look forward to putting that experience to work at Carbonfund.org,” Huntley said. He has worked with students to explore purchasing renewable energy for their dorm rooms and with staff members to increase the amount of renewable energy at the university.
In the past, Huntley has also worked with StartingBloc, a non-profit dedicated to creating a new generation of responsible leaders. Ramsay holds a master’s in Environmental Policy from Tufts University.
“Ramsay was an early supporter of Carbonfund and has contributed to the organization as a volunteer for some time,” says Eric Carlson, President of Carbonfund.org. “His professional experience in the field, coupled with his background in universities and non-profits brings a skill set to Carbonfund.org that is extremely valuable to us.”
