Athens, Greece – Coca-Cola HBC, provider of non-alcoholic beverages in 28 countries, has just published its Social Responsibility Report (CSR) for 2005.
The summary Report covers 2005 activities in 26 countries in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Guidelines 2002. The report demonstrates the progress that has been achieved in embedding corporate responsibility within country operations.
Points to note are progress made in five key areas: Corporate Governance, the Environment, the Workplace, the Marketplace and the Community. The Report indicates how the Company has been implementing its policies on corporate governance and ethical behaviour during the past five years since it was formed, and provides specific information about actions taken in its four focus areas to adhere to third party international standards.
In 2005, Coca-Cola HBC and The Coca-Cola Company signed a partnership agreement with the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) to conduct continuing awareness raising programmes in support of the 81 million people who reside in countries along the River’s course.
As part of its commitment on energy, the Company commissioned a tri-generation power plant in Dunaharaszti, Hungary, which has no ozone depleting qualities, very low direct greenhouse impact, and offers optimal energy-efficient refrigeration.
