IRCA, New approaches to qualifying and maintaining social auditor competence

Intertek has cooperated with International Register of Certificated Auditors to develop a new international auditor training and certification program aimed at supporting the competence of supply chain auditors and certification body auditors involved in social responsibility auditing. This new program is based on the international conventions that form the basis of SA8000 and the ETI base code, and the auditing standard ISO 19011. This seminar is an opportunity for people involved in ethical supply chain management and certification to find out about approaches for establishing and maintaining auditor competence and to find out more about this new program

SRI World Group, Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting: Supply Chain Practices and Beyond

This session explores the current environment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) stakeholder reporting. As investors and other stakeholders are increasingly interested in information surrounding corporate international supply chain practices as well as other aspects of corporate sustainability information, companies have had to cope with the difficult process of responding to repeated, non-standardized and sometimes duplicative requests for information from different research firms and stakeholder groups. Providing this information in an effective and timely manner, offers an opportunity for companies to build stakeholder relationships and leverage their corporate sustainability performance. Through a pioneering method for providing data related to CSR supply chain practices and other facets of corporate sustainability to firms that research corporate performance, OneReportTM, participants to this workshop have the opportunity to learn about a collaborative, efficient, effective and cost-effective approach, for CSR reporting, which serves the interests of companies, the research community, and stakeholders alike.

    BSCI Comprehensive Review Session

Initiated by the Foreign Trade Association, Brussels, European retail companies and associations developed the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), a common monitoring system simplifying and standardizing the requirements and individual monitoring procedures. The BSCI is based on the labor standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO). It aims at continuously improving the social performance of suppliers, leading to Best Practice like SA8000 certification or equivalents and thus sustainably enhancing working conditions in factories worldwide. Local and European stakeholder networks accompany the project. This comprehensive workshop session will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the BSCI basic initiative and goals for establishing a common European platform for monitoring social standards.

    Agenda Highlights:
