Construction Completed, Production Started at Alumar Expansion
Construction on the expansion of Alcoa’s Alumar smelter in São LuÃs, Brazil, has been completed and start-up of full production has begun. The expansion will add 63,000 mtpy of aluminum, bringing total capacity there to 438,000 mtpy.
Alcoa Employees Selected to Assist with Earthwatch Research
Fifteen Alcoa employees have been selected to assist in scientific field research studies around the world with leading environmental scientists from Earthwatch Institute.
