Editor’s notes

International Service is a development agency working in three continents. We combat poverty and oppression by working to increase global understanding of development issues and improving social and economic conditions for the poorest people in the poorest countries.

International Service is the only development agency in the north of England. It coordinates the British Volunteer Agencies Liaison Group (BVALG), plays a significant role in British Overseas NGOs for Development (BOND), and was highly commended in the International Aid and Development category at the 2003 and 2004 Charity Awards.
