Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) has been selected for inclusion in Hispanic magazine’s new list: the “2000 Hispanic Corporate 100.” Hispanic cited the companies’ efforts to provide opportunities for Hispanics and contributions toward the advancement of the Hispanic community in the areas of recruitment, scholarships and minority vendor programs.
Brendan Keegan, Marriott International’s executive vice president, human resources, said, “Expanding opportunities for minorities represents one of our highest priorities, and we look forward to making more progress. We appreciate Hispanic magazine’s recognition of our continuing success in providing opportunities for Hispanics.”
David Rodriguez, Marriott International’s senior vice president, staffing and development, noted that, “Marriott International’s top leadership is committed to minority community outreach as an integral part of the company’s business strategy. This is reflected by our support of such organizations as the National Council of La Raza, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Hispanic College Fund.”
In addition to being honored by Hispanic magazine, Marriott International has been named by Fortune magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work for,” and as one of the “50 Best Companies for Asians, Blacks and Hispanics.”
