In an emotional ceremony that was held at Athens International Airport on Wednesday, August 22, HYGEIA Group bade farewell to the athletes of the Greek Paralympic Team with a sense of pride and the wish for them to return as winners. The ceremony was held in view of the athletes’ departure for the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

HYGEIA Group, proud sponsor of the Greek Paralympic Team, undertook all medical exams and lab tests for the Team’s athletes. The medical tests were performed at HYGEIA Hospital and the Group’s affiliated primary healthcare Diagnostic Centers nationwide. Furthermore, HYGEIA Group has been financially supporting the efforts of the athletes attending the London Paralympic Games, meeting all their needs for sporting equipment, while it has also individually sponsored seven athletes, fully covering all their needs. The athletes are: Antonios Tsapatakis (swimming), Che John Fernandez (shot put), Paschalis Stathelakos (shot put/discus throw), Paraskevi Kantza (athletics), Pavlos Mamalos (powerlifting), Nikos Pananos (boccia) and Panagiotis Triantafyllou (wheelchair fencing).
