HARTFORD, CT. – October 12, 2007 – Pure Tech Waters of America Company is teaming up with Hartford based United Technologies (UTC) to help make the Hartford Marathon one of the greenest marathons in the country. In an effort to eliminate the more than 20,000 plastic water bottles and paper cups typically found at the end of the race, Pure Tech Waters is supplying a 2500 gallon tank that will feed a 70 foot long water fountain with 40 spouts developed by UTC engineers. Pure Tech will also be supplying pure water for the finish line tank from their Vital H2o bottling plant in Glastonbury Ct. The plant uses Reverse Osmosis technology eliminating dissolved and undissolved impurities in the water producing the purest water available. The tank will be moved to the finish later this week where UTC engineers will spend the day assembling their water fountain.
According to Pure Tech Waters CEO Brian Whitney “We are particularly proud of our sponsorship this year not only for the money raised for local charities but for our added efforts along with race organizers and UTC in helping this become a much greener event”.
