June 12, 2007- Marks & Spencer has published its fourth annual CR Report – How We Do Business 2007 – available via: http://www.reportalert.info/ra/M&S120607.htm

The Report includes performance updates against 22 targets set in the previous report but also features the first publication of the company’s Plan A 100 commitments on Climate change, Waste, Sustainable raw materials, Fair partner and Health. These commitments will form the basis of key performance indicators used in future reporting.

The report has been produced to level C of the new third generation UN GRI framework and meets retail industry requirements as set out in the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) environmental reporting guidelines for UK business. Independent assurance has been provided by Ernst & Young.

Marks & Spencer is a member of the 2006 Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the 2007 FTSE4Good Index, the 2007 Global 100 most sustainable corporations and a Platinum Company in the 2007 Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index.
