Strategic Employee Involvement Workshop to Debut at 4th Annual Cause Marketing Forum

March 2, 2006

New York, NY – Strategies for using cause-related programming to attract, motivate and retain employees will be the focus of an advanced workshop premiering at the Cause Marketing Forum conference on June 14.

“In this era of serial employment, when few of us work at one company for a lifetime, executives need new tools to create loyalty and inspiration in the workplace,” said David Hessekiel, president and founder of Cause Marketing Forum Inc. “We are excited to offer a course that captures best practices for engaging employees in cause-related programs.”

“Strategic Employee Involvement” will be taught by Denise Keyes, a senior vice president at Fleishman-Hillard. Ms. Keyes has been part of the cause marketing movement since the early ’80s when she helped create programs for both American Express and MasterCard. That was followed by leadership positions at Cone, Inc. and the Points of Light Foundation where she focused on employee volunteerism.

Studies show that employees reward socially responsible employers with increased loyalty, but little training has been available until now on engaging workers in cause initiatives. Designed for business and nonprofit executives, the session shares best practices for programs that go far beyond traditional activities such as bake sales and walks.
