TORONTO – 87% of Canadians believe that Canada is “a world leader” in working for peace and human rights (Ipsos). In reality, we’re not. There is an increasing gap between what Canadians expect from their governments and corporations, and what is actually being done.
Human Rights: Everyone’s Business is a two-day, national symposium on the role of Canadian corporations in protecting and promoting human rights both domestically and internationally. Hosted by Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR), the assembly includes former Prime Minister Joe Clark, top Canadian CEOs, a Governor-General award-winning Inuit climate change activist, and the Secretary General of Amnesty Canada.
Discussions at this unprecedented forum will centre on the national and economic urgency for Canada to rejuvenate the “Canadian Brand” and the global trendsetting that built our international reputation.
