Tell EPA to Adopt Clean Air Rules

Tell EPA to Adopt Clean Air Rules

June 9, 2012

The U.S. EPA has announced a historic effort to rein in carbon pollution from new power plants.

June 25 is the end of the 60-day public comment period on EPA’s proposed new rule on the pollutant that is the leading cause of climate change.  The proposed rule would apply only to new fossil-fuel-fired electric utility generating units.

The EPA needs to hear from business leaders who know the rule will create jobs by spurring innovation in clean energy technology.

Your comments will support EPA’s efforts to fulfill its legal duty under the Clean Air Act to adopt and implement clean air standards.  Delaying such standards leads to increased uncertainty and undermines the potential for capital investment and economic growth, undercutting U.S. businesses’ ability to compete in the growing global clean energy market.

Please join with other business from the American Sustainable Business Council and Tell EPA you support strong rules that spur innovation and create a clean energy future.
