The World Bank Institute and partners are pleased to announce the launch of a new program on Strengthening Responsible Business and Governance. This new program aims to forge coalitions of business, civil society, and government leaders to improve the investment climate, contribute to economic development, and foster leadership by integrating responsible business and good governance practices into their corporate cultures, strategies, and policies.
We are pleased to invite you to join the program’s new interactive Web platform. It is available at http://www.responsiblebiz.info/. This Web platform serves as a ‘virtual boardroom’ – it is a collaborative space for users to discuss and learn about responsible business practices and good governance, share experiences and ideas, connect with global experts and leaders, access cutting-edge tools, and contribute ideas to the global dialogue on strengthening responsible business practices and governance.
Through structured discussions, your thoughts and ideas will inform the development of recommendations and action plans to be presented at a high level African Conference hosted by the program conveners (November 17-18) and the World Forum for Ethics in Business (November 18-19) at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.
E-Discussions will open on:
- Responsible Corporate Growth and Competitiveness, September 7, 2010
- Business-led Collective Action for Good Governance and Anti-Corruption, September 13, 2010
- Creating Business Opportunities at the Base of the Pyramid, September 20, 2010
- Socially and Environmentally Responsible Business, September 27, 2010
