HOUSTON, TX November 14, 2006 — The U.S. Business Council for Sustainable Development will hold its 2006 Year-End meeting in Houston on December 12-13th, providing members and guests with opportunities to collaborate on sustainable development projects, network with like-minded professionals, and hear about emerging activities and opportunities in sustainable development.
Delivering on its commitment to foster sustainable development initiatives, the US BCSD will host a full day of working sessions for its current projects, including Regional By-Product Synergy Initiatives, China BCSD Partnership, Green Brownfields, Scrap Tire/Plastics Recycling, and U.S. Army Partnership. A Water Project Ideation Session will also be held to identify possible initiatives and synergies for solving water issues. Guests are invited to attend these working sessions to learn more about projects and the US BCSD work process.
Guest Speakers include Bob Ridge, VP of EH&S for ConocoPhillips and Andrew Winston, Yale Professor and Co-Author of Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage. Representatives from GEMI, the Global Reporting Initiative and Ohio State University’s Center for Resilience will present on Sustainable Development Metrics; and US BCSD members will share ideas, resources and best practices from their sustainable development programs.
