HOUSTON – 15th Annual Women’s Resource of Greater Houston Luncheon Presents “Ready Willing and Ables”

WHEN: Thursday, May 5, 2005

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

WHAT: The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston’s 15th Annual Celebration Luncheon, featuring keynote speaker and native Houstonian Dorothy Ables, Vice President Audit Services and Chief Compliance Office, Duke Energy

For the first time, The Women’s Resource will present the “Money Makes a Difference” Awards, which are given to select individuals who have attended one of the TWR financial literacy seminars and written essays about what they have learned.

Winners will share how they have used their money to make a difference in their own life or the lives of others.

WHO: The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women and children become financially self-sufficient through research and free educational workshops such as the FDIC’s Money Smart curriculum.

WHY: Proceeds from this luncheon will fund programs for The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston.

The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston helps women and children develop social, financial and personal skills through education and experience. Founded in 1990, the organization has taught hundreds of women and children the basics of budgeting and finance, while funding research on critical issues that affect women, girls and families.
