Who's Doing the Right Thing? What Good Corporate Citizens Do

VANCOUVER -Now in its 11th year, the 2004 B.C. Ethics in Action Awards will recognize business leaders that are winning with integrity. These awards are the most prestigious BC business awards recognizing responsible business practices. They promote best practices in Corporate Social Responsibility and profile better ways of doing business, encouraging companies to continually improve on their positive impact on society and the environment.

Ethics in Action presents four awards:

The Community Care Awar honours businesses that have developed innovative and meaningful community partnerships and programs.

The Environmental Excellence Award honours businesses that have demonstrated leadership and innovation in minimizing their impact on the environment.

The Overall Leadership Award honours businesses that are going above and beyond in their commitment to corporate social responsibility, aligning the core purpose of the company with their values.

The Individual Impact Award honours leaders who champion corporate social responsibility (CSR) in their business and make an outstanding and lasting contribution to the business’s CSR Initiatives and programs.

2003 award recipients were: Pro Organics Marketing, Raincoast Books, Aquatex Scientific and Level Ground Trading in the small business category; and Coast Capital Savings, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, BC Operations and Creo Inc. in the large business category.
