LAS VEGAS, NV – July 3, 2007 – Las Vegas’ first-ever Women of Color Conference: “Empowering Our Future” is attracting nationally recognized business and cultural leaders. Terrie Williams, an entrepreneur and motivational speaker, and Juana Bordas, an advocate in the Latina community, will be panelists at the conference on August 3, 2007. The day-long event provides women of all ethnicities, professions and social backgrounds with leadership, networking and learning opportunities through a variety of workshops.
“It is an honor to have such a high caliber of women participating in the conference”, said Hannah Brown, President of the Urban Chamber of Commerce. “These women have achieved phenomenal success, and this is a great opportunity for women to learn from them.”
Williams is the author of a number of best-selling books, including The Personal Touch: What You Really Need to Succeed in Today’s Fast-Paced Business World. She will participate in a panel discussion on the importance of self-care and leading a healthy lifestyle.
Bordas is the president of Mestiza Leadership International, and the author of Salsa, Soul, and Spirit: Leadership for a Multicultural Age. She will moderate “A Dialogue With Sisters.” This session will provide a forum for women to engage in intimate conversation about issues relevant to women of color.
